AI receptionist
An AI receptionist is software that answers the phone, speaks with the caller, and writes down what they need. It is not a recording that says "leave a message." It asks questions, answers from the hours, services, and notes you gave it, and hands you a summary. A person still decides what to do with the job.
Owners look at this when the phone rings while everyone is on a job, or after the shop has closed and a customer still calls. Staffing a person to sit by the phone is a real cost, and a small crew cannot do it every evening. The software is there for the calls a person did not pick up. It should say it is answering for the company, stay inside the facts you provided, and refuse to invent a diagnosis or a promise.
The useful output is a lead, not a transcript nobody reads. Name, number, what the caller said is wrong, and the neighborhood are enough to call back in the right order. If the caller describes something dangerous, the right behavior is to send them to emergency services, not to troubleshoot. If the caller asks something the software was not told, it should take a message instead of guessing.
An AI receptionist is a different product from missed-call text back. Text back writes to people you did not answer. The receptionist answers. Shops often want both, because some callers will not talk to software and some will not wait for a text. Neither one replaces the owner on a large quote. They keep the inquiry from vanishing.
Puff Voice is Puffly's AI receptionist. It answers from the services, hours, and questions you set, and it puts the caller on the lead list. Voice is separate from the free CRM. The CRM is where the lead lives after the call.
