Review request
A review request is a single, specific ask for a public review after the work is done and paid for. The timing is the whole tactic. Asking before the job feels like a hostage note. Asking three weeks later asks the customer to remember a feeling that has faded. The day they paid, or the morning after a job they were happy with, is when the request belongs.
Send it to the person who was there, from the person who did the work or from the owner, not from a nameless brand. Name the job. Give them the direct place to leave the review, usually the Google Business Profile, and do not ask twice if they ignore it. One request is polite. A weekly series is how you teach people to mute you.
Do not offer a gift in exchange for a positive review. Platforms forbid it, and customers can tell. Do not filter: asking only the happy ones in a sneaky way and burying the unhappy ones is how a profile gets distrusted. If the job went badly, fix it in private. If it went well, ask once, in public's direction.
The request should live on the job, not in your memory. When the deal moves to paid, a task appears: send the review ask. That is a CRM job. A spreadsheet of "people I should text" dies the first busy week. Puffly keeps review requests with the rest of the follow-up on the customer record, so the ask happens because the job is done, not because you remembered at a red light.
Reviews feed local search and they feed the next customer who is comparing two companies at 9pm. They are not a marketing campaign. They are the last step of a job you already earned.
