An AI answering service for painters
A painting company misses calls on ladders and on estimate days. Puff Voice answers, asks what needs painting, and books the walkthrough.
Why painting companys miss calls
On a ladder with a brush in hand
An estimate or a room in progress means the phone stays in a pocket. The homeowner calls the next painter on the list.
Color and room questions take a conversation
People call to ask about interiors, exteriors and whether you can start before a holiday. They want a person, or at least an answer, the same day.
Estimate day is also call day
The afternoon you spend walking houses is the afternoon new callers cannot reach you.
After hours and in season
After hours
Homeowners call about painting after work, when your crew is done and the office line is off. A night answer books the walkthrough for tomorrow.
Busy and slow seasons
Exterior season and the weeks before holidays fill the calendar. Interior work is steadier. The busy stretches are when an unanswered estimate call costs the next job.
A call, start to finish
The caller says
We need the exterior of a two-story house painted before a party next month. Can someone come look at it?
What Puff does
Puff takes the address, interior or exterior, and the timing, books the walkthrough into your calendar and texts a confirmation.
- You choose when it answers: every call, only calls you do not pick up, or only after hours.
- It answers from your own services, hours and FAQ, and takes a message when it does not know.
- It hands the call to you when the caller asks for a person.
Which plan includes it
The CRM is free to start. Missed-call text back and Puff Voice, the AI receptionist, are on paid plans. You need your own Twilio account with a phone number, connected in Settings, Phone. Twilio bills its own charges, and business texting needs carrier registration in that account.
Questions from painters
Is this a painter answering service?
It answers your business line when you choose: every call, only the ones you miss, or only after hours. It books from your calendar and writes a summary. It does not send a crew on its own.
Can it tell an interior from an exterior?
It asks and puts the answer in the summary, along with the address and timing. You still price the job after you see it.
Does the caller know it is not a person?
Yes by default. The greeting says it is an automated assistant, and a caller who asks for a person can be handed to you.
